The teacher employer – Teachers Service Commission will not register teachers who will train in subjects that are not in their current curriculum.
All the applicants who wish to register with TSC are graduates with subjects which are not presently in the syllabus.
Equally those teachers who have done Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement are not eligible despite being part of the guidelines for registration.
Therefore individuals who have done PGDE with these courses are not eligible for registration as teachers.
The courses have been declared not substancial to provide adequate subject matter and therefore mastery of the material in the two teaching subjects is not sufficient as necessary.
On the other hand ,the commission states that ‘Bachelor of Science or Arts degree, topped up with Post- Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and 2 teaching subjects are eligible for registration.
Here is complete list of Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree Teaching Courses which are banned by TSC/ ineligible for employment Consideration
