TSC Sends A Crucial Circular To Regional Directors Demanding Teachers To Submit The Following In 2 Weeks.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) sends crucial circular to regional directors of educatio demanding teachers to submit views on service delivery in two weeks time.
According to the circular, TSC has asked teachers and stakeholders for their input on a new mission to re-engineer its service to teachers.
The move is meant to enhance service delivery and to improve the commissioners’ customer experience.
Regional directors and County directors have been asked by the Commission to collect information from staff in all sub-counties, key stakeholders, and teachers within their jurisdictions on how the Commission can improve its service delivery on its functions and critical business in a circular dated June 16, 2022 signed by Director of Administrative Service Ibrahim Mumin.
The identified functions and critical business processes the Commission notes are critical to its operations and seeks teachers’ views include;
d) promotions of teachers
e) adjustment of payroll on promotion
f) payment of arrears
g) management of teacher discipline (determination and review),
h) processing of benefits on exit from service
I) review of teaching standards
j) enforcement and compliance
k) customer experience
l) handling of complaints.
“As part of the Commission’s Service Delivery Re-engineering Strategy, the Commission has launched a Business Process Re-engineering effort aimed at the TSC Core functions.” Part of the circular read.
In order to address developing concerns and improve customer experience, this would include identifying gaps and rethinking some essential procedures,” Mumin stated in the Circular.
The TSC Regional and County Directors have till June 29, 2022 to complete the process, according to the Circular, which was copied to the Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr.Nancy Macharia.
In regard to the circular TSC must gather information from its employees in all sub-counties, important stakeholders, and teachers in every county and region on how these processes, procedures, and functions may be improved.
