The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Tuesday, July 19, published names of shortlisted candidates set to fill 14,460 vacancies across the country.
The commission had declared 5,000 new vacancies and a further 8,230 slots to replace teachers who had left the service through natural attrition.
According to media sources, more than 356,000 tutors applied for the roles, with post-primary teaching positions drawing the most interest after 219,311 teachers expressed interest in the 4,000 openings.
For the 1,000 openings, 136,833 primary school tutors applied. Additionally, the commission received more than 327,882 applications for the 8,230 openings left by instructors who left due to attrition.
