When it comes to promotion opportunities, teachers who participate in the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) mentorship program will have an advantage.

Teachers who complete TSC mentorship and attend recruitment or promotion interviews have a greater chance of being recruited or promoted, according to TSC. The names of teachers who will attend the program have already been given to the TSC headquarters.

The training will begin once the ongoing teacher training at Junior Secondary schools is concluded, according to TSC. To lead the initiative, the Commission has created a structure and policy. Teachers who participate in the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) mentorship program will have an advantage when promotions become available.

This Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency Based Assessment (CBA) training will be quite different from the mentoring training program because the former is nearly entirely run by the Ministry of Education and Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), whereas the latter is run by TSC.

A number of benefits and incentives will be awarded to teachers who successfully take part in the program.

TSC will offer participants a certificate of accomplishment upon completion of the mentorship and coaching program, which will undoubtedly be considered an added benefit in promotions, appointment posts, or recognition rewards.

It’s worth mentioning again that both the mentor and the mentee will receive certificates of completion. This means that, in accordance with the TPD policy structure and professional advancement standards, both the mentor and the mentee will earn TPD Points.

TIMEC (Teachers Induction Mentorship and Coaching) is a systematic teacher support program aiming at including preventive approaches in managing teachers’ professional conduct and performance.

TSC has created a TIMEC program as part of a larger strategy to help teachers grow their profession, ethics, and practical skills.

The program aims to improve teachers’ competences and skills, as well as their understanding of teaching laws, rules, policies, procedures, values, and norms.
