Dr. Nancy Macharia, CEO of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), has set a deadline for all teachers to update their TPAY profiles.

The TSC’s boss stated in a circular dated June 8, 2022 that the Commission is committed to improve service delivery through automated processes.

To put this into practice, the Commission issued a Circular titled Upscaling of Online Services for Teachers on February 15, 2021, which outlined principles for service automation.

TSC Requests That All Teachers Update Their TPAY Profiles: How To Validate Data In The TPAY System

To improve the security of teachers’ information and to comply with the Data Protection Act of 2019, the Commission asks all teachers to update their TPAY profile as follows:

i. Log into TPAY and access the payslip page via the TSC website.

ii. Include a passport photo that clearly shows the face, without glasses or a hat.

iii. Enter and double-check current mobile phone numbers

iv. After you enter your mobile number, you will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your phone.

V. Enter the OTP to validate the mobile number; vi. Click the Validate tab to confirm that the mobile number is correct;

NB: Only a genuine code will be accepted, and the number cannot be modified once it has been checked.

During the loan application and approval process, the cellphone number will be used.

vii. Enter and verify an official Commission email address, such as xyz@mwalimu.tsc.go.ke.

Note: An OTP code will be issued to the email address provided. To verify the email, only a genuine code will be accepted.

During loan applications and approvals, the email will be used.

viii. Verify the email by clicking the validate tab.

Heads of institutions are obligated to do the following in this regard:

a. Within 30 days of the date of this circular, verify and approve the profile of teachers under their supervision.

b. have their profiles verified and approved by the Sub-County Directors (for primary school principals) and the County Directors (for post-secondary school principals).

This must be completed within 30 days of receiving this circular.

Heads of institutions will be unable to access their TPAY accounts if they have not confirmed the personal information of instructors under their supervision within the allotted time.

The TPAY validation exercise will begin on June 9th, 2022, and end on July 15th, 2022.

Teachers can get help with the verification process by emailing tpayverification@tsc.go.ke or visiting the TSC County Offices.

All County Directors and Sub County Directors are instructed to make sure that all instructors working in their jurisdictions are aware of the contents of this circular.
