Now that Kenya is facing high rates of unemployment, getting jobs after graduating from higher education has become a heavy task for most of the graduates.

However, having a certificate of additional short courses alongside other certificates, one can be given an opportunity to secure an employment.

Here is a list of the short courses that can easily give you an opportunity to secure employment.

1. CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT(CPA) 

This is a well known corse in kenya and it is offered by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board(KASNEB) in six modules.

Whoever has finished this course (CPA K) is eligible to become a finance manager, practitioners auditors, tax consultant and professional accountants.

It is as well used in terms of self employment as a tax consultant or an auditor.

2. DIGITAL MARKETING

As we all know most sectors of he economy are being driven by technology making digital skills an asset.

This is a good course lfor those who plan to engage in online jobs. This covers areas like search engine optimization, social media marketing, Google Ads and email marketing.

3. SIGN LANGUAGE

This is a course mostly meant for those graduates or stedents who pursued courses like education, media, linguistic and linguistics and international relations.

In our country, these people have opportunities in different government fields as language interpreters and also sign language experts for TV stations.

4. FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Having to know a second language can be advantageous in that you increase your chances of getting a job. In this, you can work as a language teacher either with an organisation’s or independently. You can also work as a translator.

This also gives you a competitive edge over other people when it comes to international market.

A number of employers are on search of professionals who can easily communicate with customers from different international markets which will enable the expansion of overseas market.

5. COMPUTER PACKAGES

Most fields in our country require basic computer skills.Many institutions offer the packages including Microsoft office.
