The majority of people end up taking courses without knowing whether or not the responsible company has approved courses under its framework.

Following the Teachers Service Commission’s announcement that it will not register teachers who will train in disciplines that are not part of their current curriculum, several trained persons have received devastating news.
All trained applicants who seek to register with TSC must be graduates with topics that are currently on the syllabus, according to TSC.

Similarly, although being included in the registration standards, teachers who have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement are not qualified.

Individuals who completed their PGDE with these courses are no longer eligible for teacher registration.

Some courses have been considered non-substantial because they do not provide adequate subject matter, hence mastery of the material in the two teaching disciplines is not required.

 

‘Bachelor of Science or Arts degree with Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and two teaching disciplines are qualified for registration,’ according to the teachers’ employer.

 

Part of the enumerated Consideration of Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree Teaching Courses that are prohibited for employment.

 

Anthropology

Sociology,Theology

Journalism,Kiswahili and communication.

Business Management/Administration.

Banking and Finance,

Actuarial Science,Environmental Science,

Criminology,Biotechnology,All Engineering Related Courses,Industrial Chemistry.

Genomics.g/divinity. Agricultural Machinery,biographical

Environmental Science,Criminology Biotechnology,

All Engineering Related Courses,Biochemistry,Hospitality and Tourism,Food, Nutrition and Dietetics,

Technology and Applied Biology,

Microbiology and Industrial Chemistry
