The 25th day of the month of April was the beginning of the first term for the year 2022. Every school in the nation will take a break between the 26th and the 29th of May 2022 for a total of three days during the ten-week long term that begins on the 26th.
Since the Corona Virus Pandemic halted school activities across the country in the beginning of the school year, this will be the second and final time that the academic school year will begin close to the middle of the year.
The 11th of June 2022 will mark the beginning of the second term. Additionally, it is a 10-week term, and there will be a break of three days somewhere between the 11th and 14th of August 2022. After that, on the 17th of September, 2022, vacations of one week’s duration will be granted to students at all of Kenya’s educational institutions.
The beginning of the third and final term of the academic year 2022, which is one week shorter than the first two terms, has been moved to the 26th of September. Take note that there will not be a break for the half term for this particular term at any of the schools.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), and Kenya Primary School Examinations Association (KPSEA) will all be administered during this same third term.
To get things started, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations are scheduled to take place between the 28th of November and the 1st of December in the year 2022.
The second piece of information that we have is that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will be held between the 1st and 23rd of December in the year 2022. The period of time allotted for the marking exercise is from the 2nd to the 20th of January 2023.
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) has not yet been scheduled due to the fact that the Examination body (KNEC) has not yet determined when it will take place.
The KCPE will be phased out in favor of the previously mentioned KPSEA assessments as part of the new curriculum that is based on competence.
The KPSEA examinations will be utilized in order to ensure a seamless transition from elementary school to junior secondary school
