The Teachers Service commission has scheduled a teachers training on Competence Based Curriculum as from 9th May to 14th may that will see about 60000 secondary teachers retooled.
Every participant will be entitled to training allowance as follows:
All participants will be reimbursed travel expenses to and from as per prevailing fares up to a maximum of Kshs.1000 For County Staffing Officers and 800 for the Champions.
Training institution to provide conducive venue and palatable meals at Kshs.400 per day for 5 days and stationery at Kshs.100 per participant.
All teachers attending the exercise shall be given Kshs.300 per day to cater for travel expenses. In addition every participant shall be paid Kshs.1000 per day for 5 days to cater for their accommodation.
Official vehicles shall be fueled at Kshs.5000 per vehicle for maximum of 2 vehicles per county and 3 vehicles for counties hosting the Regional Director to ease movement of the respective officers.
Lunch allowance up to a maximum of Kshs.1500 per day shall be paid for 5 days to the Regional Directors, County directors, Deputy County Directors, 2 drivers and . This shall be paid as per the prevailing rates per job groups.
All payments shall be made through the bank and not cash. The funds may also be disbursed through bulk M-pesa services offered by the bank.
All payment schedules must be approved by the respective County Directors before before being taken to the banks and consequently copies of the same shall be retained for verification purposes.
The teachers who will be retooled are expected to be part of the team to welcome and handle learner’s in junior secondary who will be transiting from primary come January 2023. Who will be the first batch of CBC.
The government through the ministry had set aside 1.2 billion in the 2021/2022 financial year .To cater for retooling of about 116000 secondary school teachers on the basics of Competence Based Curriculum to prepare them adequately to handle learners on the new system of Education.
