First  term of the year 2022 began on April 25th of this year.

During last month between the 26th and 29th of May 2022, ALL the  schools in the country had a three-day holiday break that really saw teachers and learners have some time to rest for refreshing.

It should however be noted that this is the first time in Kenya when schools reopened for the first term almost in the middle of the year.

The above changes were effected due to the  outbreak of  Corona Virus Pandemic in the country that  halted school activities across the country.

Then this marks  the  final time when the school academic year begins almost in the middle of the year.

Going by the latest official Moe calender, all the  schools in Kenya will close on 1st July to 10th July 2022.

Then the official 2022 Second term will start on 11th June 2022.

Take note that this  will also be  a 10-week-term and will have a 3-day-break between 11th August and 14th August 2022.

Then all schools across Kenya will then break for a one week long holiday on 17th September, 2022.

Third term which is shorter by a week comparing it with the first two terms, now will kick off on 26th September, 2022.

Take note: There will be  no half term break for this term a cross all schools.

In addition, in this  third term, all the National examinations for class eight candidates(KCPE), form four students(KCSE) and Class six pupils (KPSEA) will be conducted.

Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will be conducted between 28th November and 1st December, 2022.

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will take place between 1st December and 23rd December, 2022. Marking exercise will take place between 2nd January 2023 and 20th January 2023. As at now,Examination body(KNEC), is yet to set dates in which Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will take place.

Above mentioned KPSEA assessments are meant to replace the KCPE under the new competence based curriculum. KPSEA assessments will be used to see smooth transition from primary school to Junior Secondary school
