TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia has stated that 1594 head of institutions who were meant to retire in 2021 have been added two years following the effects of Covid-19 in the country.
Dr. Macharia further said that since 2019, Kenyan government has been allocating funds to recruit teacher interns.
To date, a total of 28,000 interns have served the Commission.She further exuded confidence of teachers who are prepared to welcome students to Junior Secondary.
“Our teachers are equipped and tooled to handle these students”.Last week, during the release KNEC CEO Dr. David Njenge’ere said all candidates eligible for grade 6, class 8, and form 4 examinations in November and December this year, should be registered between 27th April and 14th of March 2022.
He also added that the government of Pres. Uhuru will continue to pay examination fees for children both in public and private schools.
This exercise has been happening since 2016.
The recently released KCPE and KCSE is the last examination being administered outside the regular October/ November national examination season that had been temporarily disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic
