Education ministry through the cabinet Secretary professor George Magoha has listed a number of items that guardians or  parents should avoid buying  when taking their students  to Form one for admission on the reporting day, 3rd May 2022

Quite a number of most parents have had sigh of relief after  professor magoha asked all school principals to reduce the list of requirements for admission to Form one Admission.

Part of the items that professor magoha feels are Unnecessary but most   secondary schools have been demanding from students on admission day include :

✓Exercise books

✓Class readers

✓Novels

✓Photocopying papers

✓Foolscaps

✓Atlases

✓mathematical tables.

✓Hockey sticks

✓Pangas.

 ✓Jembes slashes

✓Handbrushes.etc.

While speaking at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development on Monday while  launching  the Form One selection, professor Magoha said that some of these items unnecessarily increase the cost of Form One admission and should therefore be omitted from the list of requirements.

Accordingly to CS. magoha also directed principals to admit all students allocated to their institutions, including those who have not paid full school fees.
