All Unemployed Teachers To Be Employed On A 3 Year Renewable Contract. TSC CEO Confirms

Teachers service commission is the s biggest white colour job employer in the country in every year .

 

TSC commission creates more than 10,000 job vacancies annually.

Dr.Nancy Macharia , TSC CEO has more than 350,000 teachers on payroll.

 

However, even with this number, still more than 300,000 registered teachers have not yet secured jobs.

TSC acknowledges that it has a daunting task of ensuring that school are well staffed that is under the backdrop of meagre finance that can hardly ensure the already employed teachers are well remunerated.

The commission has released a list of counties that are experiencing a cute shortage of teachers both in primary and secondary.

 

They include:

 

Mandera county,

 

Wajir and west pokot,

 

Kitui,

 

Kilifi,

 

Bomet,

 

Bungoma,

 

Siaya,

 

Murang’a

 

Narok.

 

The commission has come up with affirmative action that has seen marginalized area get teachers and retain them in those areas.

Hardship tokens for Teachers working in ASAL categorised work stations is one of the baits that the commission use to attract and retain teachers.

 

Additionally newly recruited teachers are bound to work in their first deployment station for a minimum of five years, this policy helps to reduce high turnover ratio of teachers also the commission offer 3 year renawable contract to the teacher willing to work in ASAL.

Government has also encouraged locals to join teaching courses by lowering entry grades for pupils in from ASAL.
