Sigh of Relief To ECDE Teachers as Governor Nyaribo Changes Their Terms of Employment

It was a sigh of relief for 414 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers in Nyamira County after governor, Hon. Amos Nyaribo reviewed their terms of employment from contract to Permanent and pensionable terms of service.

The governor who had earlier announced that he will hire ECDE teachers who meet the qualification , yesterday presided over the launch of appointment of the 414 teachers of 600 on permanent terms. He promised to hire the remaining number early next year to achieve his target of 600.

The governor urged the teachers who have been serving children across the county to improve the performance and confidence of the children as he promised to build more classes and buy more learning materials that will aid in better performance.
“Do not let me down. Work hard and I will do my part in making your work easier through teaching materials and aids,” said the governor.

He also promised to implement the integration of ICT in ECDE programs before the end of his first term in office.

This will absolutely help them have a better foundation of knowledge to prepare them well in the coming future.

Speaking at event that was held at Uhuru Gardens, the governor assured who was flanked the teachers and the public that his administration by the speaker, MCA’s and teachers assured that his administration will take a good care of their welfare.

The event that was attended by the County Assembly Speaker and MCAs was also used to sign the teachers into pension schemes.

The noted that he understands the challenges they have been through over time and that it was time they are addressed.

Nyaribo said his administration was working on a school feeding plan to improve children’s nutrition and retain them in school.

In his final remarks, Nyaribo congratulated the hired teachers as he asked those on contract to be patient.
“I know you also wish to employed. Just be patient with me, I have plans to hire you early next year,” concluded the governor.
